I mean I'd love to get my hands on a pair of Rayban Tortoiseshell wayfarers, but I think every family member of mine would hit me on the head if they knew that I parted with my hard-earned pay for it. With our sort of income bracket, I think the best strategy is to combine creatively the cheaper capitalistic stuff with the more classic items worth paying for. My only pet peeve is when people wear high-street/fake items with no appreciation for its roots or significance. For instance, fake 4-stripe adidas superstars. it breaks my heart.
